2024 Fall Season Volunteers

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR THE FALL 2024 SEASON.

Volunteers are always needed for coaching, assistant coaching, and referees. This season, we are extremely short on referees. To coach, minimum age is 18 years old. To referee, minimum age is 14years old. Great hours if needing Community Service hours!
TO REGISTER,
Click any registration button on any one of our pages. You will be redirected to our AYSO 508 Sports Connect/Blue Sombrero site.
Register by making a new account. Once account is made, click on the third bar in the left column (volunteer) to register as a volunteer.
If registering as a coach, team parent, assistant coach please be sure to sign up under the appropriate age group(s) you wish to coach.
If registering as a board member, referee, concessions, etc. just chose one age group and register.
AYSO has moved to a Level 2 background check for all volunteers to improve further on the safety of the kids. Please watch for an email from AYSO or Sterling to complete the background check. You can also log into your AYSO Registration (via www.wickenburgsoccer.com), click on the volunteer tab on the left and there should be a notice to complete the background check. Wickenburg AYSO 508 is paying the $25 fee National AYSO has mandated so once you are done with he background check form, please be sure to choose the box that the Region is paying. This fee is for the background check and any of the online course (via AYSOU)-which are free to the volunteers.
All previous AYSO volunteers, please take note:
Volunteer records require an exact match on the following fields:
- First and Last Name
- Date of Birth
- Last 4 of the SSN
In order for volunteers to stay linked with their volunteer certifications and position histories,
we need to have volunteers make sure they apply with an exact match of the fields above.
How can a volunteer be sure their application is linked to their AYSO records?
Before eSigning their volunteer application, returning volunteers should check that their AYSO ID appears in the upper right corner of the form before eSigning it.
If the number begins with 20…, it is a new volunteer ID number and not linked.
Volunteers can go back to their application and fix any of the fields.
The most common reason records aren’t linking is the use of a Nickname in Sports Connect (previously Blue Sombrero) instead of their correct legal first name as needed for background screening.
National AYSO has instituted a volunteer fee of $25 to cover background checks and certifications. Our Region has decided
to wave these fees and pay them out of our budget. We feel that volunteers should not have to pay to volunteer.
The fees will be covered by sponsorships, not additional fees to the player registrations.

Certifications are required in Safe Haven, Concussion Awareness, SafeSport, and the area you plan on volunteering in.

The Referee is entitled to the highest respect. His/her mistakes, and there will be mistakes, shall be accepted WITHOUT complaint. The Referee has the power to call the game due to poor field conditions at the time of the game. He/she also has the power to eject players, Coaches, or spectators for unsportsmanlike conduct - Red Card.
